Building The Study
It's finished!
James has been working hard to get the study done the past month. I think he did a BRILLIANT job! It's a lot of hard work considering that fact that he did everything from scratch plus he needed to balance it with the family and school! I think it looks lovely and I'm so *happy* that we both have a place to work. And space to put our million and one books.
For those into details.........
the design was a combination of research he did on Google. Good ole Google!
he used our fav dark brown wood stain for the side shelves and teak veneer (I LOVE TEAK!) for the table and middle shelves. He used shellac vanish for the vintage teak look. Kinda reminds you of our Holland home. Some things don't change. The last time, we got someone to build our bookcase, this time we made our own.
the chairs were a steal from a thrift shop - $9 each! It's a bit shaky lah but matches the look.
the wallpaper we chose off a US online shop. He ownself stick it on. Super. I could never do that. I'm so glad I married a patient man.
Actually, the only help I gave was to hold the shelves for him to drill it on and choose the wallpaper. Sophie was James' right hand girl!
