Ribs and Romans
The pork ribs turned out awesome! I was in a hurry and didn't read the recipe (I used this.) properly,
as usual. I was reading a few recipes and kinda got them mixed up so I
thought the cooking time was 1 hr but it was actually 2 1/2 hours! I
got home late and decided to just wing it. I usually read a few
recipes and then figure out the general idea of what it takes to cook
the dish so I just kinda adapted the recipe. Instead of Worcestershire
sauce, I used oyster sauce coz we don't like BBQ/Worcestershire sauce.
Instead of tomato paste, I just used tomato sauce. I used white sugar
but halved it and added honey. Didn't have mustard so I added in loads
of garlic for a kick. And I left out chill coz the kids were eating. I
also cooked for 1 hr and then up the temperature for another 10 mins
or so... Yep I winged it. It was perfect for us. The kids loved it and Sophie can't stop talking
about it. She ate 4!
Oh... and we ate on the floor and with our hands, like the Romans did
coz we have been learning about Ancient Rome. Sophie was so thrilled.
Good thing we bought a portable high chair for Levi and he could join
us on the floor but safely strapped to the seat. Keeps the food safe
from him :).
I think this dish will be added to the Lim stash of recipes. Hopefully
I can replicate it, haha.
